NFL Playoffs: Giants at Packers

The game at 6:30PM ET, will be very interesting. The last time these teams got together, it was a massacre. This time it will be different. Both of these teams have changed, and grew up since their last meeting.

The packers coming off of a huge win last week against the Seahawks, are looking good. This is a young team, and they are inexperienced when it comes to playoffs. That might hurt them in the end. In order for these guys to get a win at home today, they will have to  run the ball. The Giants defense showed last week that they aren’t that successful at stopping the run.

The Giants have been told by many people that they are dirty. I have yet to see it, but this could play in their favor. Since most of this packer team has no playoff experience, the Giants could get under their skin, and cause an effect on the way they play the game. Ultimately the only way New York will come out of Green Bay with a win is getting to Favre. The Packers have one of the best O-Lines, but the Giants have great pass rushing, lead by Michael Strahan. If they can get to Favre the way they did last week against Romo, they will have this game in the bag. Bret Favre is to old to move the way Romo does, he will not be able to avoid a lot of hits.

Prediction: New York 28, Green Bay 20

NFL Playoffs: Chargers at Pats

Today at 3PM ET, The Chargers will go to New England and try to end this madness. New England has won 17 games in a row, and the Chargers have won 8 games in a row.

In order for the Pats to win this game, their defense has to step up a little. The Chargers have proven that any body on their team can step onto the field and do their part to help the team win, so taking team leaders out of the game will not be that much of an effect on the outcome of todays game.

The Chargers have to do a lot of work on the defensive side of the ball today if they think their coming out of New England with a win and trip to the Superbowl. The fact that they are trash talking the Patriots isn’t helping either. If anything that will only hurt them in todays game. They have to try to get to Brady, because he has shown what happens when you don’t, he will complete everything. Having physical corners will help against physical receivers like Moss and Stallworth.

Prediction: Pats 32, Chargers 23
