I officially suck! It’s a good thing nobody reads this yet, because I was wrong on three of my four predictions.

The Colts looked like a high school football team. They were destroyed by San Diego backups. LT left the game in the first half, yet the Colts gave up 302 yards in the air. Phillip Rivers was great, the Chargers offense looked as if they could not be stopped. Vincent Jackson caught 7 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. This was a big upset, and the Colts completely embarrassed themselves.

Outcome: Bolts 28, Colts 24

The other game of the day was New York at Dallas. I knew this would be a great game, but I did not see the Giants winning in the end. I don’t think anybody saw a NFC championship game without Dallas in it. the Giants were unable to stop the run, Marion Barber stacked up 129 yards on the ground with a touchdown. The Cowboys were hurt by penalties, and struggled to protect Tony Romo (who was being rushed most of the game). This is what ultimately lost them the game.

Outcome: Giants 21, Cowboys 17

This means next week the two games we have to look forward to are:

NFC Championship- Giants at Green Bay

AFC Championship- San Diego at New England

The Bolts at the Colts today 1PM ET. This game sounds closer than it will be. With Gates not at 100 percent the weapon selection is down enormously. Without the pro bowl TE being healthy, the colts have to worry less about Rivers and the passing game, and can focus more on stopping LT. On the other hand Merriman and the Chargers defense will still have to worry about Addai, Harrison, Clark, Reggie Wayne(who led the entire NFL in receiving yards this year), and the best quarterback in the world Payton Manning.

If the Chargers want to win this game blitz, blitz, and then blitz some more. The Colts have very good blocking for Manning, but if they layoff the way the Jags did against the Pats, it will have the same results. The DB’s in the Chargers line up are not good enough or quick enough to defend these guys for more than 5 steps, nothing against the Chargers, no one is good enough to cover these guys with Manning throwing to them.

My prediction: Colts 34, Bolts 21

Today at 4:30PM ET, the New York Football Giants will take on the Dallas Cowboys. “Wow” will this be a game. Both the Giants and the Cowboys are really good teams. The Giants struggled a little during the regular season, but even in those games they struggled in, you could tell that they were good. Last week Eli Manning looked like his big brother. He played phenomenally, though he only threw for 185 yards, he played very smart. No picks on 27 attempts against a ball hungry defense like Tampa’s is what led New York to Dallas.

Dallas is coming off of a well needed bye week. These guys started struggling when they almost got beat by the Lions in week 14, losing 2 of the next 3 games by blowout. The Cowboys won both times these two teams met this year, but they were close air shows by Romo and Manning.

This game will be different, its playoff time and both of these teams have proved that when they need to win, they do anything possible to do it. Home field throughout the playoffs for the Cowboys will give them the upper hand not only in this game but games to come, as long as the offensive line can keep Strahan and the rest of NY’s D-line away from Romo.

My prediction: Dallas 31, NY 27

Well I knew that New England would come out on top, but it was for different reasons than I suspected. Jacksonville dropped back in a 6 DB format the entire game, not blitzing Tom Brady at all. This allowed Brady and his brilliant receivers to make big plays. Every play someone was wide open. Brady completed 26 of his 28 passing attempts. Garrard played good as well, with 278 yards passing and one pick at the end of the game. The big difference in this one was the complete shut out of the Jags running game. Taylor and Jones-Drew both combined for less than 100 yards. I tip my hat to the Pats for making the Jags find another way to move the ball, ultimately leading their victory.

As for my prediction, I was close on the score, but I was wrong about how it would happen. All in all it was a good and enjoyable playoff game.

Well, both teams did prove something. Green Bay proved that they are good enough to play in the playoffs. They are one of the best teams in the NFC. Seattle proved that they won a weak division. They did not play with any passion or heart. They did not block, tackle or stop any part of the Green Bay offense. Bret Favre threw 18 of 23 for 173 yards and 3 touch downs. The Packers ran for235 yards and 3 touchdowns. If New York beats Dallas, Green Bay will host the Giants, if the Cowboys wins, the Packers will have to travel to Dallas where Bret Favre has never won a game, playoff nor regular season.

As for my prediction, I was way off and I am glad no one reads this blog yet, because I wouldn’t want to be responsible for any money lost. I thought Seattle was the better team, and I was wrong.
